Fantastic turn out for our first official Village Meeting yesterday.
Lots of positive feedback on the "Living Off Our Land" project and some great discussion around the potential that Barbuda has in growing #organic foods.

We are launching our first project on #Barbuda with the support of the Barbuda Council 🙌

The project will offer the resources to deliver more backyard #organic #farming projects and empower one passionate #TBF ‘Gardening Champion’ who will train in #Kenya and deliver the project to the community alongside a team of Barbudan gardening experts.
Backyard gardening has long been a part of Barbudan culture, this project helps to celebrate our love for our land and how it can provide for generations to come.

Meet Annette Henry - CO-FOUNDER + TBF TRUSTEE
Annette is a marketing consultant and social media strategist by profession, she is immensely proud of her Barbudan heritage. Since Hurricane Irma she has invested a lot of time sharing up to date information alongside the history, culture and innate beauty of Barbuda with the w...orld. Born in Leicester, UK and now based in London, Annette’s passion for Barbuda stems from her father, who made sure his British born children always had a strong connection to their Barbudan roots.
Annette’s expertise in communications, education, community-based advocacy, and culture advances #TheBeFoundation’s work to promote systemic reform, rooted in the voices of the community. She directs TBF's work in engaging global opportunities for community involvement, through the development of related programming and services. Annette is particularly committed to meeting the needs of under-served women and young people in Barbuda by engaging partners who support locally-driven social and economic empowerment.
