" The Half Hyde Bay is located on the southern Coastline of the Island of Antigua in the Twin Island Nation of Antigua and Barbuda. The Darkwood beach and surrounding areas make up this Bay.I will hasten to add that the Bay is Comprised of more than just the famous beach but the rocky coastline on either side coupled with the corresponding portion of water loosely engulfed thereby. The Tamarind Hill and also that rocky coast between Darkwood and Turners beaches constitute portions of The Half Hyde Bay. So on the other end we have the rocky coast between Darkwood and Ffryers Beach forming the debarkation of the Bay.

The Picturesque View of the bay from land includes the Island of Montserrat on a clear day/evening, on an extra clear day the Islands of Redonda, St. Kitts and Nevis are also visible. The calm seas in the leeward portion of the island is a popular water way for sea vessels of various types and swimming and snorkeling are especially good.

Many have visited the famous area for picnics, whilst on Island tours or other purposes. What ever the reason for visit or just passing the breathtaking scenery it seams to put a smile on ones face. The recent addition of the red street lamps does highlight (no pun intended) the Sea Turtle aspect of the Area.

Half Hyde Bay should be on the agenda of all persons on the Island and to be enjoyed by all. "
