Many of us know of the Red Cross, but how many of us know where the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement came from?

The history dates way back to the 1800s. Can you believe that?

Here is Ms. Susan Hodge, walking us through the origin of the Movement and how it has become so meaningful throughout the nation in the 21st century.

Attention members of the South Hill community❗️

As you may know, over the past couple of months, the Anguilla Red Cross has been conducting VCA’s (Vulnerability Capacity Assessments) in the South Hill community in risk reduction efforts to help build community resilience. We have being gathering necessary information from members of the community over a series of community meetings. We are now coming to the end of the first half of the VCA process and invite persons to a fina...l community session on Saturday 3rd August at 5:00pm. This first half included gathering data on the community using a series of data collection tools and creating a report and action plans to be implemented in the community. At the meeting, we will be discussing the second half of this process, which involves discussing the mitigation activities that we have came up with through analysing the report. We invite South Hill community members to come to the Bethel Methodist Church on Saturday 3rd August 2019 at 5:00pm and be apart of this informative handover process. This will be a very social handover and there will be pizza and refreshments!

The ARC hopes to see you there!

ATTENTION‼️

The Anguilla Red Cross has begun its community transport service in 2009, with members of the Island Harbor and East End communities, making regular visits to the Welches Polyclinic every other Monday. Since then, our transport service grew to other areas and members of the Anguilla community. Our beneficiary list grew to the port where needed volunteers were no longer available to meet the demand. With the increase in demand the ARC took on massive fundraising ve...nture to purchase a larger, modern wheelchair bus. After acquiring the new wheelchair bus the ARC expanded its services to offer school transport assistance to the DOVE center west end.

Like everyone in Anguilla, the Red Cross supported the consequences of Irma, with important damages, including the bus for the transport services. As of January 31 the Anguilla Red Cross will put in standby its community and School transport service. The ARC continues support the Anguilla Community in many other ways such as Disaster preparedness and response, resilience, First Aid, Water Safety, Health fairs, Thrift shop services, and much more. We are thankful for the support we have received over the years and we are looking forward for your continued involvement. We keep our strong commitment to Anguilla population and communities, in normal times and in crisis.

Anguilla Red Cross Everywhere, for everyone!
