" Niko, the middle aged host doesn't really speak English but he's super nice and friendly. He made us fresh vegan breakfast everyday with mandarins and pomegranates from his garden. The room was very cozy with a private bathroom and good lighting. He let us use the kitchen to make dinner and always offered to do the dishes with the dishwasher. The Wi-Fi is solid. We are within walking distance to the old city and museums. There's a lot of little stores selling fresh produce a few blocks away. The streets can be dark at night but it's no problem. Really wished I could speak Albanian to chat with him more. They prefer euros and if you pay in local currency, they mark up the exchange rate a bit. Many curious kids in the neighborhood will holler at you :) "

" My husband and I stayed at Guesthouse Niko for two nights during our honeymoon trip through the Balkans, and staying here was such a treat. It is the perfect distance from the town--about a 7 minute walk--and is totally quiet and peaceful at night. The room was super clean, really spacious and the bed was so comfortable. Niko and his wife welcomed us with coffee and fruit, and I have never before met more hospitable hosts in all of my travels. The breakfast was so massive and delicious, and Niko was so attentive to us. Such a great place to stay, it was a real highlight for us. "
