Lay catholic couples trained for four years in preparation for their commission to the village ministry where they live under the supervision of the Bishop of the Diocese and with additional supervision of the parish priests. Their ministry is to work with the parish in the village and the congregation in matters of the catholic faith. They teach catechism classes for the children and youth and prepare the children of God for receiving the Holy Sacraments. They are lectors, acolytes, and much more in matters of the faith to the people they serve. Their duties are not limited to the spiritual aspect of their vocation for they also work faithfully in the physical developmental of the parish they serve.
