Description

SOUTACHE (pronounced ‘soo-tash’) is a common element in the French art of passementerie used as decoration on clothes and uniforms. However, I use Soutache to make jewellery by adding beads and gems. The strings used to make Soutache come in many colours and are often made of silk or rayon. Everything is then stapled with an extremely thin thread.

The strings used to make Soutache come in many colours and are often made of silk or rayon. Everything is then stapled with an extremely thin thread. It is a very time-consuming technique, but it allows you to make unique and stunning jewellery. It is light and can conform well to the wearer's body just like a piece of clothing...

BEADED CROCHET ROPES are made using a beaded crochet technique. This technique is relatively easy. It requires using a crochet hook, fibre (yarn, crochet thread, embroidery floss, or other) and beads. I usually use TOHO™ because of its fine quality.

PEYOTE STITCH is a similar method but it utilises needles instead of a crochet. Still, the main materials are beads and fibres. Peyote pieces can be woven as flat strips, in a flat round shape, or as a tube.
