Balnagown Stud has been operating for more than 40 years, focusing on ponies that are suitable for all disciplines, with good natures, versatility, type and movement. Most ponies have close up imported lines, and the stud focuses on retaining Shetland qualities. Glen Ardan Stud is a sister stud commenced when family lived interstate. They are now run together as one stud.
Most ponies are 9.2hh and over, with the majority 10hh plus. We have many colours, including black, piebald, grey, bay & bay skewbald, palomino, and chestnut & chestnut skewbald.
Ponies from the stud compete in led, harness and saddle classes, and have been highly successful in all disciplines. We pride ourselves on depicting our ponies exactly as they are, and advising on suitability for the use they are sought for.
Ponies normally for sale. We advise if you are wanting a particular type of pony, then let us now as many foals sell prior to weaning.
