The DreamLiving and working in the Middle East, it was never going to be home. However, we loved our time as an expat family and were on a journey back to Melbourne over the eleven years away.After working the corporate life for over 30 years there was a nagging dream of owning and operating our own family business. This would be along the lines of coffee, food and motorcycles. During our expat stint we travelled extensively, each year taking 7 weeks leave visiting many countries throughout The Middle East, Europe and the USA. It is unanimous our favorite country is Italy and The Amalfi Coast and in particular Ravello has captured our hearts. From 2009 our first landing in Jeddah Saudi Arabia I purchased a Harley Davidson taking advantage of the year round summers and exploring the local offerings with three kids and Jacynta alternating rides on the back. The bike was then moved to Dubai enjoying our five years in this fantastic metropolis of endless desert roads, fantastic food and a rising coffee culture reminding me where Melbourne was with coffee/café growth in my earlier years. Finally, after 4 years in Saudi Arabia, moving to Dubai Jacynta could legally drive in UAE. Ruby got her driving license in Dubai and enjoyed the freedom and a beeline to Dubai Mall. Matt obtained his motorcycle license at 17 in Dubai and rode to school each day. At 18 he passed his car divers license enjoying air conditioned drives to school and Dragon Mart. Lastly was Rani's turn and she made the most of driving around Dubai in a safe environment.Fridays in Dubai usually consisted of Matt and I riding the roads chasing a caffeine fix at the many cafes and roasteries with our favorite hangout, Café Rider. 2015 was the year we discussed the dream of our own business on our return to Melbourne. This is where it began, to combine our love of coffee, food and bikes and share the passion with friends, family and the community in general.
