Take a walk upstairs to Level 1 of the Esplanade Hotel in the seaside town of Inverloch, Victoria and you will find an oasis of fine food, wine and service. Named after John Maxwell Cook (aka Captain), the CL officialy opened in November 2009. With the recent recruitment of Head Chef Steve Finne-Larsen, we aim to make Captain's Lounge a premier eatery of Gippsland, showcasing fresh & local produce with quality & serice you'd expect from a metropolitan restaurant.

For those after a relaxed wine or beverage of choice after work or to catch up with friends there is plenty of bar space and lounge seating as well as the beautiful outdoor balcony. Drinks may then evolve into casual small share plates to snack on or a sneaky dessert. For those after a more extensive dining experience, the CL will aslos offer a relaxed a la carte fine dining menu. Our menu will reflect an emphasis on utilising seasonal, local produce to create innovative contemporary combinations that surprise and tempt the taste buds. The CL also provides a funtion space that can be booked for special occasions.

Steve's approach is to offer fresh, textual and seasonal flavours with an emphasis on innoviative & modern cooking styles. He is passionate about creating tasty, nutritious and innovative dishes using the freshest produce, sourced wherever possible. His aim is to please & excite the valued customers that frequent our beautiful restaurant and create an experience to remeber.
