It’s easy to study through Frontier Training and Technology because we deliver all training and assessment in your workplace, during work time. Courses are based on practical, hands-on training, with your own work being used for assessment. Classes are delivered in very small groups of two to four people or up to 10 people (or one-to-one if you are the only trainee in your workplace). Our courses can be used to begin your learning from a basic level or if you’ve already been in the workforce for several years, for up-skilling, to give you a great depth of knowledge within your organisation or perhaps prepare you for a promotion.

We will supply you with the best trainers and assessors, all learning materials to support you to and all you need to provide is access to a computer to complete your chosen qualification successfully.

DELIVERY METHODS
Learners and employers are advised of the different modes of delivery via the information packs they are given before enrolling into the qualification as well as on consultation with a representative of Frontier Training & Technology during the enrolment process.

The delivery of training and assessment in this qualification is flexible and may include a combination of the following:

Face-to-face delivery
Face to face delivery involves the delivery of training sessions either one-to-one or group based. Training sessions are conducted on site in the learners’ workplace and training sessions are scheduled according to employer or learner needs (we anticipate one face-to-face session per month). At the very least, learners will experience face-to-face delivery four (4) times every calendar year.

To ensure effectiveness of training sessions and encourage student participation, group sizes will be limited to a maximum of 6 participants in the workplace.

Each session will allow enough time for the students to learn the topic, undertake practice opportunities and, where required by learner or employer needs, complete / submit set tasks required for assessment purposes.

Self-paced learning
Self-paced learning involves the learner undertaking learning and assessment tasks between face-to-face consultations. The extent of self-paced learning is determined by each individual learner and is communicated through the trainer and assessor.

Self-paced learning is encouraged as it is an effective way for learners to apply and build on their communication, teamwork, problem solving, initiative, planning and organisation, self-management, learning and research skills.

Learners are provided with comprehensive learning guides and materials which they work through at their own pace as well as assessment tools and instructions to complete between face-to-face visits.

On the job learning
On the job learning occurs when the learner undertakes structured training within their workplace and is delivered by a workplace supervisor, manager, colleague or workplace trainer.

All units will be delivered and assessed on site in the work place.

Student Mentoring
Our program training methodology goes hand in hand with student mentoring. It uses a personalised approach with small groups and individuals to develop self-confidence and leadership. Training and mentoring help to develop and retain transferable skills sets.

Classroom Training Delivery
To ensure effectiveness, training programs may combine a mixture of classroom presentation and student participation methods.

Tasks will be set throughout the course (by the trainer) for each student that relate to the course structure and their vocational direction (as this course is transferable across a variety industries) for practice and formative assessment.

Students are expected to attend all scheduled training sessions

Student involvement is very effective in a group learning environment and helps with ensuring that a class as a whole has achieved a similar level of knowledge. Student participation methods will include the following.

Promoting practice / re-enforcement;
Providing class time for students to reflect upon the content and allowing for student participation through facilitation, discussion or projects / tasks;
Trainer direction training with student input required;
Student reports/presentations and projects;
Group tasks / team task assignments;
Student-assisted demonstrations;
Assigned/acknowledged reading;
Time allowed for reinforcement; and
Problem solving activities
To ensure the effectiveness of the training sessions, and to encourage each student to participate in a well designed and develop training program, class sizes will be a maximum of 15 students. These restrictions will maximise trainer/student interaction on course material. Trainee feedback and student evaluations will be considered in modifying and improving courses.

Each session will delivered through active participation between both the trainer and the students. This is to ensure student participation is mapped to the delivery style to ensure maximum learning and retention.

Each session will allow enough time for the students to learn the topic, undertake practice opportunities for reinforcement, and complete / submit set tasks required for assessment purposes.

Sessions will be mapped to ensure a holistic approach to the training, linking similar units together. Content has been clustered to provide a flow – from the known to the unknown, and to allow candidates to prepare for holistic assessments, building on information learned from one session, applying it, and continuing the learning with a new topic that takes the process further in a logical direction

Each unit will be linked to day-to-day practical tasks to assist the students reflect and appreciate the relevance to their vocational requirements.

The design of each session will include subject matter that is tangible, and relates to the workplace environment.
