Wanting to do something different, Peter sought to offer a huge range of golfing equipment including golf bags, golf balls, chippers, irons, fairway woods, drivers, putters, extensive golf buggy selection, accessories, footwear and much more in a golf shop that was not located on a golf course.

He chose the centre of Geelong for its close proximity to a large number golf courses and golf clubs around the region including Geelong, Barwon Heads, Anglesea and Torquay Golf Club.

In doing so, Peter's golf shop - aptly named Peter Toyne's Golf Centre became one of the first off-course golf shops to open in Australia and in turn, Peter, one of the youngest golf shop owners. Now we have all this available online.
