" Zamindar Acharya Chowdhury founded the town of Muktagacha. Acharya Chowdhury clan founded the city and settled here. Shri Krishna Acharya Chowdhury, the first male of the Acharya Chowdhury clan, was a resident of Bogra. He was working in the revenue department at the Durbar of Murshidabad. He was a very confidant of the Nawab. In 1132 he settled the then Alapsingh pargana while serving in the revenue department at the Nawab's court. It may be mentioned that most of the Muktagachha upazila including Muktagachha town at present belonged to the then Alapsingh Pargana.

After the end of Palashi war in 1757 AD, due to various reasons, the four sons of Shri Krishna Acharya Chowdhury decided to come to Alapsingh from Bogra. These four sons of Shri Krishna Acharya Chowdhury are Ramram, Harram, Vishnuram and Shivaram. Before settling, they visited different places in this pargana and decided to settle in the present Muktagacha area. At that time there was not much population in Alapsingh pargana. There were forests and swamps all around. The four sons of Sri Krishna Acharya were crowding the boat at Ayman, a branch of Brahmaputra river.

Hareram is one of the zamindars of Muktagacha. This Hareram house is now the Rajbari. Mezzo son of Srikrishna Acharya Chowdhury, the founder of Muktagacha zamindari. " The place is beautiful.A beautiful place, especially for those who like to take pictures. But the thing I liked most about going there was the temple in front of the palace(Shree Shree Raj Rajeswari Temple)There was a feeling of holiness. There is another temple near the palace, the twin Kali Shiva Temple. You will feel a lot of peace when you go to that temple. And if you goes to this Muktagachha palace, you must eat Muktagachhar manda or you will miss the taste of this famous manda.A picture of the original Mondes shop is given below.
Actually, Muktagachha Palace is one of the best place in Mymensingh City. "

" It is an important jamidar bari of Bangladesh's history. But I was disappointed to see that it hasn't well preserved by government. There could be more decoration and also could be a museum but there was only structure of jamidar bari. Also there were writings on the walls of jamidar bari which is the proof of some people's ignorance. Despite of those we enjoyed our time visiting there... "
