Burundi's Agro-food products, especially fruits and vegetables, are quite diversified and abundant throughout the year.The Netherlands, wants to intensify its contribution, to international climate action, sustainable value chain and inclusive economic development. Free trade must be fair trade and our trading system must become more sustainable. With the right adjustments, our economic system can respond more effective to rapid changes that are caused by digitalization.In view of the persistence of the uncertainty of the international market which requires proper management at one hand and to curb the many difficulties of conservation and marketing of fruits and vegetables at the other hand, transformation is the only credible alternative to enhance the value of these products in Burundi. This transformation will contribute to an increase in the life of these products, especially fruits and vegetables, to mitigate the deterioration of surplus production, to create many jobs and, consequently, to contribute to the reduction of poverty by improving significantly the producers' incomes.
