About Makers Nord Sud
The Makers North-South project aims to encapacitate 10 African fablabs to support them sustainably in their actions against covid-19 and future.Action 1: Equip 10 African fablabs with equipmentThe primary objective is to send equipment to meet the needs of 10 fablabs in Reffao in order to provide them with a base of consumables and machines for the immediate manufacture of protective visors and parts for small health equipment. A list of validated devices needed by caregivers is proposed by the AP-HP on its open source platform covid3d.org. This equipment will allow the beneficiary fablabs to sustainably increase their production and manufacturing capacity, in particular for all the actions that will be carried out after covid-19.http://makersnordsud.org/action-1/This project includes the purchase of the parts necessary for the manufacture of a precious plastic production unit, its installation in a fablab in Reffao, and its experimentation by the local makers in order to simplify the plans and parts with a view to adapting them to local conditions and manufacturing them locally, in relation to the craftsmen and the industrial fabric of the territories.A training session on the use of the Precious Plastic machine for local manufacturers, led by a French maker, will be scheduled upon delivery. The place and date of the training are still to be defined, depending on the constraints of international travel and the links created locally following the first part of the project.http://makersnordsud.org/action-2/
