Meet your English-speaking excursion guide at your Bonaire cruise pier and head onboard your transportation. Your first destination will take you south to the island's famous salt flats. You will enjoy a brief fun education on Bonaire's salt production and the history spanning hundreds of years back to the days of slavery. Observe the stone Slave Huts that served as shelters for the slaves working the salt flats in the 17th century. You will also see the neighboring protected flamingo sanctuary. The vibrant colors of the Caribbean Sea are set against pink colored salt flats, snow-white salt mounds and brilliant blue skies.

Do not forget to bring your camera for the great photo opportunities you will have on this Bonaire Beach Resort cruise excursion including a chance to photograph Bonaire's oldest lighthouse - Willemstoren, from 1837 and in good working condition.

With the sightseeing portion complete, your relaxing and idyllic Plaza Beach Resort is located just a short ride from the cruise pier on a lushly landscaped four-acre peninsula. As you arrive, you will feel the gentle island breeze as you stroll through the beach escape resort deciding where to relax whilst sipping on a complimentary welcome cocktail in the shade of the palm trees.

Cool off in the fountain pool, snorkel on Bonaire's world famous reefs or laze on your beach chair - the choice is yours. There is a full buffet lunch included (5.5 hours option only) in the restaurant situated by the shore and a selection of thirst-quenching cocktails, beers, wines and soft drinks available. Note that there is a Day Pass only option that does not include food or the additional beverages - total excursion length for this option is 4 hours. Guests on both beach excursions may choose to stay at Plaza Resort longer and return to the pier on their own (about a 10 minute walk).

It is recommended to bring a beach towel, sunscreen, swimwear and wet shoes. The Plaza Resort Day Pass 5.5 hour excursion includes full buffet lunch with dessert, coffee, tea and two additional drinks (choice of beer, wine or soda). If guests choose the Day Pass only, food and the additional beverages are not included but may be purchased at an additional cost. The food options vary daily from salads, fruits, chicken, fish, burgers, assorted cold cuts, pastas, soup, etc.

Guests on the All Inclusive will have approximately 3.5 hours at the beach with lunch and guests with the Day Pass only will have approximately 2 hours. Note that the lunch buffet closes at 01:30 PM so the All Inclusive is only available for those ships arriving before 11:00 AM. But the Day Pass is accessible for ship arrivals at any time.

At the end of your Bonaire Beach Resort excursion time, you have the choice to take the transportation back or stay longer and return back to your Bonaire cruise pier on your own feeling relaxed, recuperated and revived!
