Kralendijk is the capital city of the island of Bonaire in the Caribbean Netherlands. Part of what is known as the ABC islands, which stands for Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao, this island is actually a coral reef that has risen from the seas. The language spoken in the town is Papiamentu, but both Dutch and English are widely used and US dollars are the local currency. With lovely weather, incredible topography, historical sights, and an abundance of wildlife, we'll have the perfect excursion for you!
For the nature lovers, there are over 200 species of birds, both tropical and exotic, which makes this island the perfect stop for photo buffs and wildlife aficionados. You'll soon discover that flamingos can be found at the salt ponds and you will be able to see the protected flamingo sanctuary on our Bonaire Sightseeing and Plaza Beach Resort Excursion. There are other birds like the Caribbean parakeet and the yellow-shouldered parrot which can only be found here, nowhere else. With us you can explore nature to your heart's content and we even have excursions that will take you to visit Aletta's Goat Farm or the Bonaire Donkey Sanctuary.
If you would like to experience a bit of the local culture, we'll take you to downtown Kralendijk, you can check out Mangazina di Rei, buildings which date back to 1824, or we'll head off to see the Onima Indian Inscriptions. We also have a sightseeing excursion that will enable you to take in the scenery with a great drive to Seru Largu where you'll discover a breathtaking lookout point. There is also an excursion that will take you to Klein Bonaire, an uninhabited island located just off the coast.
Naturally, there are many beachside and water activities to choose from such as our Bonaire Sail and Snorkel Excursion so go ahead and grab the excursion that will help make your visit memorable. We've got you covered!
Fun Fact: There are four languages spoken on this island including one that is an evolution of a new language and contains elements of African language structures and Portuguese vocabulary
