Bishop Ellis organized Mount Tabor Union Baptist Church in February of 1987 with thirteen members. Mount Tabor (now Mt. Tabor Church), is one of the fastest growing churches in The Bahamas; over the years the Ministry has emerged as the largest body of believers in the country. With a membership of more than 7,000; the life-changing messages delivered by Bishop Ellis are regularly quoted throughout the country and in the country's House of Parliament.Bishop Ellis has been involved in the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International since its inception and on May 3rd, 1995 he was consecrated as Bishop of Foreign Ministries. Bishop Ellis' diligence and commitment to the Fellowship has resulted in his serving in numerous capacities. He has served as the first Regional Bishop for the Bahamas, the first Bishop of Foreign Ministry, the first Chairman of the College of Bishops; as 1st Assistant to The International Presiding Bishop and 3rd International Presiding Bishop. He holds an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from both St. Thomas Christian College and from Virginia Theological Seminary and College.He is a much sought-after preacher and to date has preached throughout the Bahamas, in various Caribbean countries, in North America, Germany, Africa and Israel. Bishop Ellis is married to the former Patrice Michelle Johnson and they along with their children reside in West New Providence on the beautiful island of Nassau in The Bahamas.
