Description

Before yoga I wasn’t active. I was never into fitness or any type of sport. I would walk and that was it. Due to being so inactive, for as long as I can remember I’d never been able to touch my toes. I can happily say that today I am able to do that and much more.

I went to my first yoga class in January of 2014 and ever since then I’ve been hooked.

At first I thought it was going to be a nice, calming way to exercise. Get a little bit of stretching and movement in during an hour-long class, but I quickly learned it was much more than that.

To me, yoga is a lifestyle. Yoga is a movement. Yoga is a way to connect, disconnect and reconnect. Yoga is an escape. Yoga is an expression. On your happiest days or your saddest days, your poses mimic your emotions. Yoga is cruel but kind, patient and loving. Yoga is learning and discovering your-self. Yoga has become a big part of my life. When I found yoga I was on a path to nowhere, with no sense of direction or idea of what I wanted out of life. I was merely just coasting along. I was so wrapped up in everyone else having careers and getting their own “instant gratification” that I forgot to just chill. Yoga has taught me to be patient with myself, to be kind to myself but most importantly to love myself. Yoga is learning to apply your practice in your every day life. Yoga is balance – in everything.

In February of 2016 I completed my 200-hour TT with Bodhi Yoga Academy in Koh Phangan, Thailand. With everything that I learned from my teachers and fellow students my goal is to bring to others what yoga has brought to me.
