Base camp is situated in a area where one can explore a memorable and breathtaking adventures. The nearest hike is Drukgyel fortress one of the iconic, historic and oldest dzong in Bhutan is Drukgyel and has the history of shaping the nation. The dzong was build in 1649 by Tenzin Drugdra to commemorate victory over Tibetan invasion and was handed over to Zhabdrung. By 1950 the dzong was completely destroyed by fire, today it stand only ruins. The base camp hotel is ideal location for enjoying the historic Drukgyel dzong hike.
just opposite the base camp, you will see a ancient temple Jana Gompa on the belt of Mt. Jow Drakey, Its 90 minutes hike from hotel, reaching there will give you a view other side of Paro valley.
Behind the Drukgyel Dzong there is yet another pleasant hike. Hiking 12 km will lead you to ancient famous meditation cave Hedi and villages.
Hiking for 90 minutes just behind the Base camp will lead you to Chudi, the place where everything is unchanged giving you a vivid view of Mt Jomolhari.
Taktshang also known as tiger nest, standing 1000meter on cliff from its base is one of the paramount monastery in Bhutan attracting thousand visitors across the world. The hike to Taktshang from the base camp starts from the village Simojo just below the Base camp, crossing the Paro chhu (river) trails climbs gradually on the belt of Mt.Jow Drakey with wide path with not much human traffic will eventually reveal the view of Taktshang in 3 hours.
Beside these hikes we also have cycle ride, with wide open road to Paro town and back, revealing the villages and its adaptation.
