About Avgustov Canal Park

The Avgustov Canal, unique hydraulic works of the 1st half of the 19th century, is a trans-border water artery. The total spread of the canal makes up 102,5 km, 22 km of which passes through the territory of Belarus, from the Belarusian-Polish border to the confluence of the canal and the river Neman. A unique eco-system of the Avgustov Canal attracts tourists. The river-bed of the canal follows picturesque places of the woodland of the Avgustov forest, where rare species of plants & animals have been preserved. It is ecologically significant for the Baltic region, as well as for Europe in general.
