BTIA is the private sector tourism industry association. BTIA first started by a few people that started tourism in Belize on a small scale. As the industry grew, so did BTIA as it assisted its members in promoting their businesses as well as the country. The organization worked closely with the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) in bringing the industry to the forefront and to what it is today.

BTIA Dangriga has been trying for 20 years or more to promote Dangriga as one of the major tourism destination in the country. Dangriga and Stann Creek has many cultural and natural resources to offer. We offer the islands, great snorkeling, fantastic diving off the main Barrier Reef as well as Glovers Atoll. We boast the second largest marine reserve in Belize, the South Water Cay Marine Reserve. We also are in the banana belt as well as the major citrus exporter in the country. Our cultural destination is home to the Garinagu, large family of Creoles, and Mayan's in the south.
