" What an awesome place! A beautiful location now surrounded by a subdivision that occupies 495 of the original 500 acre homestead (which does it make it a little tricky to find - stick with it, it's worth it!), this simple assemblage of original buildings offers an excellent glimpse of nineteenth/early twentieth century homesteading life through the many artifacts of everyday life that fill the main house. We didn't find a guide right off, so we toured the house on our own. Afterwards we found Sarah who was managing a children's summer programme, and she was a font of knowledge about the site and others in the area. It is definitely one of those awesome little historical sites that nobody but the locals know about. Highly recommended. "
