Kimmapii- The Name

Kimmapii is a contraction of a Blackfoot First Nations phrase meaning "to help" or "to care".

About Shamanism

Shamanism is a way of healing our past and bringing our lives into balance or harmony so that we experience the joy of right relationship with our surroundings.

Shamanic knowledge and practices originated in the Himalayas over 40,000 years ago and have been practised in most countries of the world. These timeless teachings belong to no particular group. They are for all people.

Shamanism is not an “organized religion”, or a “cult”. It is a way of walking in the world that bring us into “ayni” or balance with ourselves and our surroundings.

About Kimmapii

Kimmapii is owned by Shanon and Marv Harwood. The purpose of their company is to further the coming of the prophecy that Eagle and Condor will fly together, sharing equally in the same sky.

To this end, the Harwood's teach three different shamanic streams or pathways. These three alternate pathways all lead to the same ultimate goal of becoming one with Spirit.

Energetic Shamanism

The energetic stream of shamanism is a fire tradition from the Q’ero Inka Lineage of the South. Its aim is helping people to remember and work with their own sacred path. The student will learn about the luminous energy field, that envelope of pure light energy that surrounds our bodies and contains the information of our woundings. The shaman understands that much of our healing is achieved through working successfully with this luminous energy field.

Animistic Shamanism

This stream of shamanism is often associated with indigenous cultures that work with animal, bird and plant allies for healing - this is the earth tradition. In the Animistic, we work with the wisdom and properties of the animal, bird and plant allies to effect healing at the personal, family and community levels.

Destinistic Shamanism

This stream is the study of the powerful influences of Archetypal Energies on our lives. Through our understanding of how these Energies are impacting us as individuals, we are able to actively engage in forging a new relationship with the Archetypes. In so doing, we actively co-create our destiny rather than meekly accepting fate.

About Shanon (Sam) Harwood "Inniskimaaki" (Buffalo Rock Woman)

More than 40 years ago, Shanon became interested in tarot and astrology. This passion was augmented when, as a young woman, she moved to Dubai where she worked for a local newspaper and wrote feature articles on the various religions represented in the region. Shanon marvelled that although the terminology and ceremony differed from religion to religion, each faith was essentially saying the same thing. This concept was further supported at university where Religious Studies drew a similar parallel to ancient gods and goddesses from around the world - once again, different names representing the exact same energy.

Armed with this contention, Shanon went to work and over a two-year period wrote, “It Depends on Who’s Looking - The Archetype Project”. This work is designed to bring people together in harmony as they study the universality of the Archetypal Energies referred to in religion, folklore and myth.

Shanon's most notable mentor is, by far, Josephine Crowshoe, spiritual elder of the Piikani nation, who named her "Buffalo Rock Woman". Shanon also spent 10 years earning her certification with The Four Winds Society to become a Graduate of Advanced Soul Retrieval, Working with The Sacred and the Healing the Light Body School.

Shanon is a gifted shaman and a public speaker on archetypes, tarot, astrology and the works of Edgar Cayce.
