What is the Stand Up Program?The Stand Up Program is created and led by students with learning differences and/or ADHD that intend to help other students with similar differences by maintaining a positive attitude and improving self-esteems.What are our goals?The goal of the program is to help struggling students to learn the meaning of self-advocacy and therefor apply the traits of a self-advocate to their own lives.What are our objectives?Students will be able to understand the physiological reasons for their differences.Students will be able to articulate their feelings about the way they have been treated.Students will be able to self-advocate for their own needs. Students will understand that having a learning difference and/or ADHD is not a disadvantage but instead, a unique advantage that can benefit their lives.How the program works?Volunteers meet with students one on one by following the first six lesson plans that have been designed to meets the program's objectives. From there volunteers and speak up coordinator then built up another five+ lessons that meet the guidelines of the program and needs of the student.
