" Recommended place to visit when on Sal but only go in the morning between 9am and 11am as it’s when the sun is at the correct position to see the Blue Eye. Otherwise it’s just a black hole with nothing to see. There is a tourist shop with a restaurant for little snacks and souvenirs. Additionally there is a small pool above the ocean for those who want a little dip! "

" Although the place is really interesting with volcanic stones apparent, natural holes in the ground including the "blue eye" and cliffs to the sea, the place is transformed into a touritic attraction, that you need to queue for half an hour to be able to see the blue eye, the entrance to the place is 330 escudos per person, everytime you want to wander outside of the woody path, there is someone whistling at you and telling you to go back on the tracks. " Very interesting underwater phenomenon- the light falls through the water and this shine may look like a blue eye when there's direct sunshine. Best to go in the midday. Use sunshine cream while they are queuing outside and you can wait 15-30 minutes to get to the site. "

" Nice place, but it was full of flys like you will see in the pict. I was in tenerife last year and it had something similar but I think way better than here. Nice views but just 5-10 min walk to see all. "

" Interesting place if you get here at the right time of the day when the sun shines right in at midday.
The gift shop is a rip off but the grounds are built out to some degree and you can walk around safe. "

" The eye is ok, as long as you don't have to wait too long in the queue. Certainly not worth waiting more than half an hour. Not particularly impressive though. "

" We stopped here during a tour of the island to see the 'Blue Eye' and a refreshment break. Unfortunately, the sun wasn't playing ball so the 'Eye' wasn't to be seen! The area is still worth a visit though, just for the waves breaking on the rocky shore and a coffee - or beer - in the cafe / gift shop. "

" When we were there the sun was too low and the blue eye only showed for three seconds or so. I was however impressed with the huge waves in the small bay. "

" Beautiful attraction, especially when it's sunny! We went for a swim and it was great. You can also see the blue gem (a natural phenomenon) nearby at a certain time of day! Unmissable if you're on the island of Sal. "
