We had asked about going over the border to visit Ayia Napa, we were told that as long as we have the appropriate insurance it would be fine, an hour at the border proved very different, we needed extra permits, the log book for the car, a current mot (only available from Nicosia (Lefkoşa)). The problem cost me an extra €100 to sort out and had us with 2 kids sat at the border for over an hour, all due the staff not telling us what they already knew, I found this out after the border police phoned them up, the woman who answered the phone (Sue) reeled off to me exactly what we would require.
I will not even consider using these cowboys again. "
