Maria Angelides was born in Nicosia in 1975. She graduated the Pancyprium Gymnasium in 1993. In 1996, she graduated from Leicester University (Law Degree) and in 1997 from Southampton University (LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law). In 1998, she was admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association.

Maria completed her pupillage at Chryssafinis and Polyviou Law Firm where she worked until 2002. In 2002, she was employed in Emporiki Bank – Cyprus Ltd in order to set up the Legal Department and she worked there until 2013, as Head of the Legal Department. In 2013 she joined LLPO Law Firm.
