Oikotoxicologia Research Group was established in 2017 and is lead by Dr. Marlen Vasquez from the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Cyprus University of Technology.Its vision is to develop and establish bioindicators that are accurate, sensitive, reproducible and selective to be used to assess aquatic ecosystem structures and functions. It is a dynamic interdisciplinary research hub for ECIs (in the field of molecular biology, environmental microbiology, environmental sciences and environmental and geotechnical engineering.
