" I went in for a very simple reason - a broken bone in my foot (5th metatarsal bone). The first time I went I was told the x-ray machine was not working... then it an hour later it was. I have a feeling someone didn't show up to work on time... Every time I went I had an issue with my guarantee of payment. Every time. The same issue that they resolved the same way (the fourth and last time it took 40 minutes to solve). I'm not sure why the same people continue to have the same issue with the same paperwork. It's like people either don't want to help, or are too incompetent to do anything about it. Also on the last trip, it took 3 hours to get a simple x-ray done. At the end I was told I would have to come back the next day to get the images literally seconds before the technician came out and handed them to me. Incompetence and lack of desire to improve the service left me totally frustrated, and I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. "

" Hospiten Santo Domingo has to be one of the most Dishonorable, Dishonest, dirty clinics in all of Santo Domingo. If i could rate Hospiten Santo Domingo negative stars I would. Suggesting this clinic to get ANYTHING done? Please read. My very healthy little brother (17 yrs) went in for a rotating cuff surgery, a very simple tissue tear surgery on August 24th. When everything was done and the doctor came up to us and said everything in the surgery went well, BUT that he has not woken up from the anesthesia. As we waited for him to wake up we kept getting different answers on why he was still unresponsive from the surgery. At first, we were told he had fluids in his lungs and that that was the reason. A couple of hours later they said he "had asthma" and that was why the fluids went in his lungs. My brother NEVER had asthma a day in his life. It wasn't the first time he went under general anesthesia, because just a year prior he got his wisdom teeth removed and was completely fine. Days go by as we desperately look for other solutions (since it seemed NO med professional was) like another hospital or air lifting him out to the US. We were told we couldn't move him at all, because if something were to happen they would be responsible for it. Day 3 of him being in coma when we are told the fluids had gone from his lungs to his brain. At this point we knew it was obvious that during the surgery it wasn't his body rejecting anything, but that he was given too much of something. Going into the ICU, we were only allowed 1 person to go in and see him, for only 30 minutes, 2 times A day. We had family and friends come from all over to only be given the right to see him for one hour a day. They had these rules and restrictions because of outside germs the patients would've been receiving. In one occasion, I saw a nurse go into the ICU eating something and completely unbothered on her phone with what was going on inside. There were no hand sanitizer pumps anywhere on the floor. There was no soap in ANY of the bathrooms, but bleach and cleaning supplies. The staff was just ignorant in this clinic. I saw some doctors in HEELS. Definitely not the profession or TIME and PLACE for heels. Weeks go by and my baby brother is still irresponsive. As if we were not already destroyed with this overall situation, my grandmother started agonizing in pain due to the fact that her grandson may be brain dead for the rest of his life, when we told to not cry or let out our frustration AND we would have to go outside to do so. From the beginning of the surgery we were told nothing but mixed answers on what was going on. If something was wrong with my brother from the beginning of surgery, they should not have preformed the surgery. Somebody should've been observing the anesthesia and the amount that was being put into him. Test were ran a day before the surgery and they gave us the OK. Aside from them legally killing a part of our lives, the hospital was obscene with exceptionally unprofessional staff. On September 26, 2016 we got the news we were mortified to receive. My baby brother passing away in the hands of this Horrific clinic. Recently, I came across somebody who knew my brother. The lady was in shock when i mentioned Hospiten because she knew a young girl who went in for a simple surgery as well, and did not make it out alive. It has to stop. My experience at this clinic has been simply traumatic and insincere. Please don't put your life or a loved one's life at risk, putting your trust in the hands of the medical workers at Hospiten Santo Domingo. "

" Many thanks to the Hospiten Santa Domingo. Special thanks to Doctor Garcia, the team of doctors and nurses, they saved my wife's life. The procedures in the hospital are at the highest medical level. My wife stayed here for four weeks(jan 2014) in intensive care after the successful surgery of cerebral hemorrhage. Also noteworthy is the very good job of the public relation office. They have very good care of the relatives.
That is the reason for me to give it 5 stars. "
