I didn't have to leave the hotel at all. It was all there. The only thing I didn't care for was the public smoking 🚬. There weren't any designated area or at least they followed if there were. " ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !!! The resort is beyond BEAUTIFUL !!! The waiters and bartenders are very pleasant and accommodating. My housekeeper for my room was average and only did the minimum, but did clean my room daily. The check-in desk was disorganized and slow. I will definitely return to this resort. Truly an overall pleasant experience !!! "

" The best food, diversity, non boring, the staff is always willing to help, continuos animation, the disco is very animated, no racism AT ALL!, the staff is friendly. We wanted to change rooms and it was possible the same day without hesitation. There was a foam party in the night very cool! The water slides very funny and interesting.
A thumbs down because there is no room service.
But the front desk check in and out was fast!

" I had the best service out of any resort I’ve been to at Riu República. One of the waiters was attentive from the day I arrived until the day I left. He gave me a huge cake for my birthday and a great bottle of wine as well.
The rest of the hotel is beautiful with gorgeously landscaped grounds and a modern look that hits all the right notes. The pool was designed well with easy access to the swim up bar. The hotel itself is quite large but easy to get around.
There are plenty of places to eat. The food itself was amazing with quite a lot of cuisine choices within the main buffet. The specialty restaurants were also really good. Overall, I was not disappointed by either the food or the wait staff.
There is a bit of walking from the hotel to the beach because it’s so large but it’s not enough to warrant any loss of points.
The room was beautiful and clean. I had a garden view so it wasn’t very private but it did look nice and I was glad to have a balcony. I’d stay at this resort again if I had to but Riu has so many hotels at every location that I’d want to try another so long as it was Adults Only. "

" This place was beautiful. Although the air conditioning in our room (2342) was very moldy smelling, the experience was great. The swim up bar pool could be cleaned and treated with chemicals a little more often. The bar tender, Henry was so friendly and did a great job of ensuring everyone had fun. " The place is very nice. However, The food at times is not fresh. They have fruits and cheese clearly, is time to toss in the garbage. For Cleanings I give them a three star.
Recommendations better food service and better upkeeping with neatness and cleaning.
No reservation for restaurants but the wait can be up to two hours.
The liquor do not expect good drinks. At best they seem water down and very cheap selection.
The rooms are nice and well kept.

" We just spent 7 days at Riu republica. Our room was very clean and kept that way. Any request we made was looked after promptly.we never had an issue with any of the staff .Karina looked for us every morning and made sure we got our breakfast table right away. Plenty of choice of food and it was good.the pools were beautiful and the beach was great for our long morning walks. Elizabeth was helpful in reception as were any other of the staff there with whatever we requested. Would definitely go back and not hesitate to recommend it. "

" Firstly, resort is clean and beautiful property. We have a great room on the first floor located facing the garden. The beach is close and so are the restaurants from our room ( 283). You really can’t see the beach because of the dunes so we didn’t bother with the room upgrade. Food is plentiful. Buffet has a great selection. Staff is friendly except they don’t speak much English. We tip housekeeping and the bar man in our room everyday and get great service. Tipping is a must. Just a couple dollars here and there. Otherwise really enjoyed Punta Cana and Hotel Riu Republica "

Food is Fabulous! Beautiful presentation and considerate of many different tastes. Animation staff is so fun - Wanda and Coca-Cola are The Best! Maid service is very good and friendly. No detail is skipped - even the Beach towels are warm!!!

" This place would easily have gotten a 4 star rating, the level I had expected, if not for the little things. It is a beautiful resort. We had ants in our room, that we didn't think much about because it's the Caribbean, until we talked to others and then complained before they cleaned up and then we had no more ants. The buffet was expansive but not particularly flavorful or impressive. We made some changes to one of our excursions and our Delta Vacations travel liaison left new tickets at the front desk while we were out and when we went to retrieve them the desk staff said they did not have them, while not even bothering to look, we called our liaison and she called them to clear this up. The staff at the bars were great, though when you were sitting anywhere away from the bar, but still in the area that they were bringing drinks, they were very slow to respond. Overall, I enjoyed the resort and think they have some work to do to really bring themselves up to a 4 or 5 star rating. "

" Good evening. We are having a good time here on our honeymoon, but the customer service here sucks! When we 1st got here, our key wasn't activated. So once we entered the room, it was nice and clean but it was a double bed, so we went up to front desk and they switched our room. When we got to the new room, everything was good except the mini fridge was empty which took them til today to fill up. We been calling them to clean our room and give clean towels and linen since we got here and today the lights went out, the air conditioner is out and no hot water. Other than those issues, resort is cool "

" We had an absolute ball here although there are some things that could be better. Food was good for the most part, sports bar food can absolutely be better cold hot dogs and sandwiches. Entertainment was good ....we make a party everywhere we go so.... Music was cool they mixed it up daily. We did not like the fact that there is no top shelf liquor. The water was shut off one day for a period of time throughout the resort for some reason so we couldn't use the bathroom which was frustrating. This is definitely a party resort and we did just that. We will return one day but I think next year we will go back to Jamaica where they have Hennesee, Crown and Remy Martin. "

" Staff was friendly, hardworking, paid attention to detail. Food was good not 5 star but definitely above average in most cases. Drinks were great and bartenders will even make a requested drink not on their drink menu. Room was always clean and alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages well stocked every two days in your room. Overall experience was 5 star in my opinion but food I would rate 4 star and staff 4.5 stars. I'll go back in a heartbeat! "

" Very nice place to vaca. Full of entertainment and things to do while on the resort, the pools are beautiful and clean and food is great. A few things I did not like!!! There is no smoke free zones on this resort I could not enjoy a drink without smoking around. It was bad!!! Also most of the workers are nice people but do not speak English. Translator app is your best friend while there. Make sure if your booking transportation from and to the airport it's not with Travel in Style! It was very difficult to get in contact with a rep to schedule a pick up time. It literally took us 3 days. "

" We stayed at Riu Republica in July 2017. It's new, super clean, and a great place to have fun and relax. It's the right size -- you don't have to get on golf carts to go around -- and it's adult only so you don't have to watch out for children. There are multiple pools, and they have thoughtfully arranged things so that one pool is more happening with music and events, while two other pools are more quiet and perfect for relaxing. Staff are friendly and respectful, and always happy to help. The happening pool and one of the quiet pools have bars attached to them -- very nice setting to be in the water and still get drinks and chill. Food is great. Three restaurants and one very large self-serve buffet. Food variety is amazing. All in all, a great place to stay, highly recommended. "

The only bad part is you can't escape the smokers. No smoke free areas. We couldn't sit at night and enjoy a drink anywhere without having to move away from smoke. "

" I went there in march 2017 with a group of people. I loved this place. the beach was amazing the hotel was very clean. the food was very good. the drinks were amazing. The one thing that they could have is more entertaiment at night. the staff at the restaurants were very friendly. the activities personal that hosted the activities and taught you salsa, played volleyball, bingo along with other activities were great. .They would come and get you to dance in the evening as the band was playing there nightly music they were great. pony ,yocosta, spaghetti, alex, sexy boss, Gucci.which I know I missed some but these staffer's were amazing. I would definitely go back there one day. missing this place very much!! "

" I thought the Riu Republic , Punta Cana was fantastic! I highly recommend it. The resort was VERY clean. They mopped all the decks, walkways daily! The acrobatic entertainment one of the nights was awesome. You sit at the outside theatre, some of it is covered and you relax there and watch the nightly entertainment. The people could not have been any nicer. We made friends with some of the waiters/waitresses.. a couple dollar tip each day and you are treated like royalty! The last day he had our table waiting with flowers on it. We toured a school, where they make coffee, coconut products, cigars it was with Outback Adventures. The guide George was fantastic, he gave us history lesson, told jokes, we learned a lot about the culture, politics, people, the land, etc. "

" The beach was AMAZING! White powder sand, not a rock to be found, we spent hours in the ocean riding the waves. Food was great and able to find something to eat at any time. Drinks were good, sports bar open 24/7. Swim up bar was awesome. Sand volleyball right by the bar. The view from our room was amazing! There was a show every night and they were alright, nothing spectacular. Service was great, everyone was smiling and friendly. We went for our honeymoon and brought 26 other people with us ranging in age from 22-55, they all enjoyed their trip. I was worried after reading bad reviews, but they exceeded my expectations! "
