" Just stayed here for a week, this isn’t a great very luxurious hotel that’s for sure. But the rooms are clean the food is good and the staff is very friendly. One thing I think is cool is the fact that you can have a little bit of action on the resort it’s self and also find a quiet place to relax especially near the 3rd pool. The beach it’s self is nice but not the best. The private area for the resort is quite small but you can walk a lot. Over all very happy about my stay here. It’s a 3 stars hotel but it’s a good 3 stars.
If you want a good place that won’t break the bank you’ll like it there. "

" We stayed at Whala! for 6 days. It was cost effective enough that we could afford to take excursions. Overall it was a good value for our money, there were very few English speaking guests and only some of the staff understood English. The food was good and they had a beach snack bar option that was convenient. "

" The staff here are friendly. The food served here is terrible, nasty. There are nearby local places to eat that serves much tastier food at an even cheaper rate if you were to not get the all inclusive package. The walk from the resort to these nearby places to eat is not too far. If your walking it should take about 3-5 minutes. Trust me, the food is nasty. The rooms are cleaned everyday by staff, however even after changes of bed sheets I did notice cigarette burns on the pillow, and other stains on sheets and bed. There were no signs of bedbugs as I fully inspected the bed. The water provided here to take daily showers and to brush teeth is salt water. I opted to brush my teeth each morning and evening with drinking water. There were on two occasions where there was no water in the morning for me to take a shower. After contacting the front desk, I was informed that water would be restored soon to which it was. The water does gives a strong smelling odor like one reviewer stated. The AC in my room was in working condition, as I did not have a problem with the temperature of my room. My room had tiled floors, which can become slippery. The best part of my stay was the minute walk to the beach. The beach is a beauty, and if you walk and explore the beach during the day your see many families from abroad and locals enjoying themselves. Throughout my stay, I felt safe. The area is safe, still take precautions as you would do in life. In all, expect the rooms to come off as if you are staying at a 2/3 star Motel. Stay away from the all inclusive packages, the food once again is NASTY. "

" This hotel is absolutely awful. The gift shop charged my credit card nearly $500, when the price they’d stated was $100 for something we didn’t even want, but finally agreed to just to get them to stop harassing us. They insisted they would correct it the next day when the bank opened, and then every day I was there, they continued saying the bank would not be open until tomorrow. Finally I had to leave, and deal with disputing the card charges (note that we never received the item we were paying the $100 for in the first place), and the gift shop is currently insisting all charges were valid, and not refunding the money. In addition, the buffet was inedible; we were unable to find potable water anywhere, even for purchase, and the only thing that wasn’t rancid at every meal was French fries. We survived on French fries and juice for the duration of our stay. They charged a $20 deposit for towels, $10 per person, per day, for Internet, and insisted that they took USD, but every time you tried to actually pay for something with cash, they said they didn’t have change, so you had to use a card. Every charge on my card, when I returned home, was for nearly twice the agreed upon amount. The staff was rude, they were constantly trying to get us to pay for things we’d already paid for (ex.: we prepaid for a shuttle, and upon arrival, asked the driver what time we’d be picked up when leaving; the hotel concierge stated he would arrange it for us, and then when we inquired, he kept insisting he couldn’t find the information and we’d have to book a new shuttle). In addition, the hotel had no electricity for half of our stay, and it was, overall, a horrible experience. "

" Resort was horrible, food was nasty, not a variety to choose from & it was outside therefore flies & mosquitos were getting on everything because nothing was covered. We had to pay for wifi which was fine except that the wifi was HORRIBLE we could barely connect to anything ! The first night our room only had 1 towel in the room (there were 2 of us in the room) when we asked for another towel they told us only one towel per room but did eventually bring us an extra towel later in the day. The next day the bathroom began to smell really bad as if the drains/pipes were bad, when we turned the shower on the smell got even worse we called someone to come up to the room no one came for almost 2 hours. They finally moved us to another room on the other side of the resort this room was really nice, NOTHING like the first room but they never told us the wifi didn't work on this side of the resort which we already paid for for the duration of our trip ! "

" Stay away from this dump. We had to wait for about 30 minutes to get our room. Management did not let me check out early and get refund for the week we did not stay. I could not take more one night in that filthy place. The room was moldy and bathroom shower was tiny and clogged, my son was literally stepping on sewer water Beds were moldy and smelly. The wifi never worked.. All employees are rude and donor know about customer service "
