It took MULTIPLE calls to the front desk to get anyone to come to the room. Second room was okay, showered and went out for the day came back and the front door area, whole bathroom and by all the lights was COVERED IN BUGS. Not just a few, it was atleast a few thousand I’d say. Again, it took MULTIPLE calls and walks to the front desk to even get anyone to come check out the room and we ended up missing our dinner reservation. The staff is not very attentive. If you are going to stay here make sure your room is not in the ER area buildings!!!! The 3rd room is in a different area and much nicer. But even so that room’s phone doesn’t work. So can’t even reach the front desk. I understand things happen and i didn’t come here for the room, but to be moved that many rooms in less than 24 hours is ridiculous !! My reservation was Monday - Friday. It is Wednesday and i have changed my travel plans to leave today because this is unacceptable. I will definitely not be staying here ever again. If you come to this resort spend the money on the expensive rooms!!! "

" This place felt like the worst case of bait and switch ever. I was advised of all these beaches and restaurants that would be included, but more than half of them were off limits because being VIP does NOT mean you have access to all the VIP areas. And there's no distinction on the map between which areas are okay and which ones aren't. Way too get my hopes up and then leave me with a dissatisfying vacation. They also called so many times so early in the morning after our first night that we had to unplug the phone. We were hijacked on our way to the beach for a welcome package and "tour" which was an employee taking us to all the places we went allowed to access so that they could try to sell a resort membership that would get me 2 more weeks over the next 2 years at this same resort. When we declined the offer, we were dragged back to the "welcome center" and not permitted to leave until they offered us the same deal we didn't want 2 or 3 more times. There were several minutes between each offer, during which time we were still not permitted to leave. I will never go to another resort owned by this company. "

" The resort is beautiful itself but most of the staff have nasty attitudes. They really need to train their staff on customer service.. My family and I got food poisoning from their Mexican Restaurant as well. If you are traveling with someone who is special needs this is not a good place for them! Not only will it be difficult for them to get around but they do get discriminated. Part of beach is not section off to the tourist in the resort, it is also open to the public. Which makes it very dangerous for the tourist because ur property can get stolen, anything can bad can happen. By the way be careful with lifestyle Resort they will sell you a dream which will become a nightmare. Don’t let them fool you into investing on them. "

But, I am SO glad I didn't!
Cofresi Palm was great and the food was delicious!
Our favorites restaurants were the Dominica, Mexican and
Blue Lagoon. The Brazilian place was good (we are foodies) The resort was always clean, there was always someone sweeping or scrubbing the patios with bleach. There is a little sewage smell near the larger rooms but it goes away quick. You don't smell it near the standard rooms at all that's where we stayed. The service was amazing and everyone was so nice. Kathy at guest services was so helpful and went out of her way to help us with reservations and all our questions.
DON'T listen to all the negative reviews, this is a GREAT resort! "

" In one word this resort is a fraud and a thief! The customer service manager named KATHY is a thief she stole money from our group. They charged us $200 per person to upgrade the room and once we we went there gave us sewage facing rooms. Made us sign a paper that states we are getting a refund and it’s been over a month and no one is responds back. Mind you ours was a group of 15. The customer service was sooo horrible as if they are doing us a favour being at work. The whole resort is busy robbing vacationers! Please be careful from KATHY. She’s a thief! Please do yourself a favour and not go to this resort full of con artists! Horrible horrible horrible deserves no stars! "

" Except for the Bog of Eternal Stench as we come to call it (very stinky drainage ditch that just happened to be right outside our front door) it was a very nice place. A little older resort and could use some upkeep before they do the major addition they plan to do. It is a very loud place, lots of motorcycles and buses transporting people around. Great for young adults or families with middle age kids (not babies in strollers) as there are Many Stairs- Far more than I ever imagined! But food was good and is even better in the adjoining resort - Lifestyles which we had full access to. But we managed to find a quiet little Adult only pool where we stayed on sunny days. "

" Customer service was very poor. The staff only treated you nicely after you tip them. I felt we were rewarding bad behaviour. Food was good. The facilities were fine. We had also paid for and additional spa package but was told we could only use the facilities at the location we paid and the staff at the other spa location located closer to our room said we could not use the facilities there. However a German couple stated that that was not the case and that all the spas were under the same company and they had access to all locations. Guess the colour of your skin matters here. Totally an unpleasant experience. "

" We were here on January 19-26 and we had a blast. The staff were very nice and polite. Make sure to say Hi to the entertainment team and Brian the bartender.... (ask for the Brian special) . The food was very good and the room was very nice. I read all the bad reviews after booking and had lots of regrets...... and now i am so happy that we did go. Your expectations really do play a big role here ..... for the price we paid this was by far one of the best places we have stayed. Over and Above. " The food was great, beautiful scenery, nice rooms. Definitely would recommend staying here. There is so much to do here and the staff are friendly. The entertainment staff were really great (Santana and Julio) and made every day exciting from the pool through the evening and into the shows at night.
Although, what could be improved is if the staff could learn a bit more English. often it is difficult communicating. in my experience, they either can speak a decent amount or basically non at all. "

" Came here 3 years ago and decided to come back because of such a wonderful time we had... but we were wrong! Customer service desk really needs a slap in the face! Very rude people! Food wasn't good at all this time! They put more focus on their Sunday night party. The staff were a hit and miss but while at the VIP Pool or NV Beach, they were amazing to us! Spa was wonderful though. Pools were nice, but I still wouldn't recommend this place for your overall stay! Go somewhere else! "

" Visited the resort in February 2017. The resort was beautiful, and it had lots to offer. I am a fairly picky eater myself and was able to find something at every meal. One thing to note is the VIP section of the resort where you are limited based on which tier you are. For example, without VIP you don’t have access to the golf carts or some of the amenities. We personally didn’t mind that too much but it’s something to keep in mind. The room was clean, however the power did go out (apparently that is normal) a few times during our stay. The staff were also incredibly nice and friendly! "

" Found this resort through Groupon, it was a great deal, so decided to take my boyfriend for his birthday... Got everything booked and ready to go, then read all the reviews on the place, and read almost every review was negative and horrible.. Made me and my boyfriend very nervous... If you are going here for the first time (like us) and read these reviews, they are incredibaly INCORRECT! The people who wrote these nasty reviews are snobs and expect wayyyy too much! theses places are built on a beautiful island with people who work hard to make such a small living!
I have went to punta cana twice and now peurto plata, and they are all beautiful! Especially Cofresi! This place you have the options to go anywhere in the lifestyle resorts and explore all bars and restaurants... Highly recomend getting the v.i.p... You get more options, but thats expected... I read that people treat you different if they know your from groupon... They do NOT! You get treated the way you treat others... And a dollar tip and a smile gets you a long way! I read that the fact the resort is built on a hill is a problem because of all the stairs... Walking is good for you and it took us 5 minutes tops to get all the way from the beach up to the main lobby... and we only had to take the shuttle to other lobbys if we had a reservation for supper and didnt know exactly where it was... The shuttle was always available! I also read that there was a bad sewer smell... And yes there was a smell, but only in one area and it was gone within a foot of the ditch it came from... Also read that they try to get you on a timeshare grab... Well you just need to tell them you are'nt interested and or dodge them and keep saying no, after the first morning when we knew they were trying we just said we already had the tour and they gladly left us alone.
Everything that we had read was bogus! This resort was amazing and i would gladly go back time and time again! The room service was inpecible! They left extra water... Clean towels everyday, even when we didnt leave them on the floor to be replaced, left beutiful flowers all over the room! Everyone was ola this and ola that! Got directions from everyone easily and were helpful! We took one excusion and the guide popa alex was very nice and humble and we had a great time! The food was soooo good! Everything tasted fresh and flavourful! Each night options were changed up at the buffet and at the a la carts the food was amazing! Best salmon i have ever had! (At the mexican restaurant), and im a foodie/ cook/ server/ food truck owner.... Weather was great, some rain, but only for a few mins then stopped! Whoever complains that the beach isnt nice then they should go rent a private island.. Its the ocean, be happy! They didnt decide to put the sand their, the earth did...lastly, The drinks were good! Took us awhile to find the ones we liked to drink over and over again! I liked the pina with coffee liquour!
We give this resort a 5 star! They deserve it and the staff were excellent! Everything was beautiful and we got our money out of it! Hopefully this review will give people a better understanding of the place and they dont judge too harshley based on other peoples negative attitude and stuck up ways! " Worst Resort I have been to in the past years in the Dominican Republic I will not bye a time share their it sucks, I had a junior sweat which was very nice besides the bad odor that was coming out the toilet like sewage smell. The food was terrible it sure was not Dominican style and the bartenders where very rude with the clients not only with me but with other customers in the resort. The customer service where very nice with us and the management had to walk with us to the bartender bye the beach because he was very rude to the point we got to a discussion and security had to stand around to avoid it. I spent $672.00 dollars for 4 Nights and I regret it. The beach was only clean for one day full of garbage and seaweed and if you walk to the beach and go to your left side of the VIP you will see a sewage that comes out of the resort into the beach after I saw that it was a no no for me. The pools where dirty and needs update , do not let the pictures you see in the website fool you its not what they are really selling you. I do lots of traveling and I owe a Time share with Westgate resort in Orlando and that's a 5 star compare to Cofresi Palm Beach Resort........, "

" Got a deal through Groupon, so we got what we paid for. The resort is very nice and rooms were spacious and clean. The evening shows were really nice. The service was not great. The check in was quick but the lady was rude and didn't provide us with much information we had to keep prying information out of her. Guests services needs to be renamed as they did absolutely nothing for us- guess we needed a gold bracelet! If you get a deal through Groupon you'll get a blue bracelet, which means that you're not a member, which means that the timeshare or "membership" salesman will be hounding you and asking you to take a "tour" of the facility. If you're not interested in buying I suggest you turn them away! We didn't realize we were on a timeshare presentation until it was too late and the salesman pretty much told us off when we told him we weren't interested! "

" We had an incredible time at this resort. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Our room was very modern, and close to the beaches and pools. Pro-tip: bring lots of $1 bills for gratuity, and make sure they're in good condition or they may not take them. If you are American (male or female) you will still be treated like garbage, but that's because every worker here thinks ALL Americans are generally stupid & drunk 100% of the time. I'm fairly certain half the male staff members are potential rapists and kidnappers, which is disgusting for a supposed "5 star" all inclusive luxury resort that I'm 100% POSITIVE HAS A NO FRATERNIZATION POLICY WITH THE GUESTS. Clearly, it is not enforced AND when you complain, not only are there no consequences, they tell you you should be flattered so many disgusting men find you (aka my American money and opportunity for a green card) so attractive. " Go someplace else. The rooms look NOTHING like what they are showing you. Those are the junior suites that they push on you when you first get there to buy a vacation package. Our room was old furniture, shower rod fell down in the middle of the night, fuzzy TV pictures all channels, no hot water some days, ceiling leaked in the bathroom, they take your towels in the morning when you go to breakfast and do not return them till the evening, so you have to go a whole day without towels in your room. (we hid ours after realizing this). Pools are nice however they are suppose to close at 7pm but they kick you out, and I mean kick you out 30 to 40 minutes before and are not nice about it. Snack bars are suppose to close at 5 pm but close much earlier. Food is mediocre at best, but the the drinks are nasty. They must use the cheapest alcohol in the world. If you have VIP which we did , they have the good stuff but really cant make many good drinks. (Didn't even have a blender..at a beach bar ???) Wasn't a horrible experience but not a very good one either. We would never go back or recommend this place at all. "

" We had an incredible time at this resort. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Our room was very modern, and close to the beaches and pools. Pro-tip: bring lots of $1 bills for gratuity, and make sure they're in good condition or they may not take them. Don't expect them to make change for larger bills and they tend to avoid doing it if they can. "

" If you're single/unmarried/divorced & female, doesn't matter if you're 8 or 80, be prepared to be talked down to, demeaned, treated like garbage, treated like you're stupid (even if you are bi- or tri-lingual), incapable, made out of glass, sexually harassed and hit on by the perverted & green card-seeking male staff members here. If you are American (male or female) you will still be treated like garbage, but that's because every worker here thinks ALL Americans are generally stupid & drunk 100% of the time. If you don't believe me, figure it out for yourself. This is NOT an overly harsh review. I'm fairly certain half the male staff members are potential rapists and kidnappers, which is disgusting for a supposed "5 star" all inclusive luxury resort that I'm 100% POSITIVE HAS A NO FRATERNIZATION POLICY WITH THE GUESTS. Clearly, it is not enforced AND when you complain, not only are there no consequences, they tell you you should be flattered so many disgusting men find you (aka my American money and opportunity for a green card) so attractive. (Which is the perfect example of staff members "talking down" to "stupid" Americans. They have the mentality of a Muslim country towards women here. Disgusting. Deplorable. "

" Go someplace else. The rooms look NOTHING like what they are showing you. Those are the junior suites that they push on you when you first get there to buy a vacation package. Our room was old furniture, shower rod fell down in the middle of the night, fuzzy TV pictures all channels, no hot water some days, ceiling leaked in the bathroom, they take your towels in the morning when you go to breakfast and do not return them till the evening, so you have to go a whole day without towels in your room. (we hid ours after realizing this). Pools are nice however they are suppose to close at 7pm but they kick you out, and I mean kick you out 30 to 40 minutes before and are not nice about it. Snack bars are suppose to close at 5 pm but close much earlier. Food is mediocre at best, but the the drinks are nasty. They must use the cheapest alcohol in the world. If you have VIP which we did , they have the good stuff but really cant make many good drinks. (Didn't even have a blender..at a beach bar ???) Wasn't a horrible experience but not a very good one either. We would never go back or recommend this place at all. "

" We had a wonderful time got back yesterday March 4th. The weather was amazing so lovely and hot! The staff were awesome in the restaurants and bars. Room was good maid service was great! We took our grandson and they all loved him! Wenisky that worked in the buffet restaurant was the best. The beach was great spent hours in it.Lots and lots of walking beautiful flowers and trees everywhere. "

" For many years I have been coming to this resort and have to say the beach front suites are one of my favorite. The staff have always been amazing and the cleaning ladies at your service. In life you can`t please everyone but these guys really do make the effort and that`s all I need. Thanks again to all the staff at the Cofresi Palm Resort another great successful getaway. "
