Nabavatu plantation is on the northern tip of Vanua Balavu Island in the northern Lau group, part of the collection of islands known as The Exploring Isles. It has been a copra plantation & private estate since the 1860's. Bavatu Plantation has been spelt as Nabavatu for some time – an English variation, the locals pronounce it Mbavatu.
