Bay of Plenty Lodge:
Welcome to our Fijian owned eco- farm stay. We are a family run business situated on our private bay on the expansive island of Vuaki, a standard stop on Yasawa Flyer. We have been in operation since 2006.
The Navakalutu family offers our guests five tile floored bure’s, plus a dorm facility. Your vacation home is located on a hill that affords stunning island, water, mountains and sunrise views. The classic movie Blue Lagoon starring Brooke Shields, was filmed only a kilometre from our home.
Our vacation paradise is unique amongst the lovely Yasawa Islands. We generate all our power by solar panel rather than carbon producing diesel generator. Power is available in your bure 24/7. Our meals are lovingly prepared by Rosa, Sissy and Anna from fresh organic ingredients grown our farm. Our vegetables are prolific enough to supply vegetables to not only the larger resorts in the area, but to travelling yachts that call in for fresh provisions. We able to water our produce with sweet spring water that is available for drinking in your vacation residences. No desalinated or salty bore water here; meaning that there is no need to purchase bottled water that adds an environmental burden through transporting and rubbish generation. This again makes us unique in comparison to all the other vacation stays in the Yasawa Islands.
Jerry, Moses, Sammy and Suvu bring in fresh fish daily from our waters and we are pleased to cater to your dietary needs. At low tide you can dig sweet cockles that Rosa will prepare as tasty clam fritters to accompany your main meal. Aunt Sissy bakes the best coconut or banana bread in the islands!!! The chickens on our farm lay eggs to vary and compliment your meals.
You can sit all day and relax if that is your desire. Activities include a self-guided kayak excursions, guided snorkelling tours to the famous Cabbage Reef, choice diving site of all the more expensive resorts located around the Blue Lagoon region. This expensive undamaged reef is only a short 2 km longboat ride from our air dining and bar. We feature a volleyball, village excursions and sunset cruises. Hermit crab races are a spontaneous daily event.Campsites are available in abundance, anywhere within the premises at affordable prices.
