The University of the Faroe Islands

The University of the Faroe Islands is an educational and research institute. The legislative framework is established by an Act of Parliament wherein it is established that research and teaching on the highest level as well as to disseminate knowledge about scientific results and methodology. The University reaches these goals through selected research- and teaching topics.The overall purpose is to strengthen the scientific expertise at the university and in the Faroese community generally.The University has two faculties with six departments, wherein five have research and teaching responsibilities: * Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education* Faculty of Natural and Health Sciences
