From idea to action.
In 1986 Hjørdis Johansen, together with her husband Christian Kruse, took over her father's old Organ Company situated at the Organ Workshop. For ten years they continued building new pipe organs, however due to the financial depression on the Faroe Islands they ceased building new pipe organs in 1996.
In autumn 1997 Hjørdis Johansen got the idea to start a drama and theatre school for children, youngsters and adults. To meet the requirements and realise this idea they rebuilt the facilities at the Organ Workshop.
In February 1998 the first pupils started at Dramaverkstadid. Since the population of the Faroe Islands is only around 47,000 the drama school does not have a specific target market as such but is intended for anyone who is interested in drama.
