" They were great when all they had to do is get paid, but when the time came to solve problems, they were invisible. Brightside seems to just be a money moving enterprise with all the functions outsourced to 3rd parties who I then had to find and chase to correct the errors Brightside made. I suppose its a perfect example of 'you get what you pay for'. "

" Unable to get through on the phone lines - Had a letter requesting I call them, Have tried for 5 consecutive days and have been on hold for over 45 minutes everytime. I cannot wait on the phone for hours on end hoping someone will answer. The one time I managed to get through after 55 minutes on hold, the chap said the system was down and I have to ring back another day. USELESS

Now I have received a letter saying they will cancel my insurance as I have not attempted to contact them! Have been trying again this morning on both my land line and mobile yet they will still not answer their phones. Seems the only way I can contact them is by post.

Maybe you should get some more staff to answer the phones? "

" They are a scam! They took all my money and stopped my insurnce.. they refused to answer the phone and now i can no longer go to work.. lovley people!!!!!!

I was on the phone over an hour and in the end it was too late to talk to them! "

" I dealt with Andrew Phelpstead on a number of occasions and his service is appalling. Terrible manners, terrible timekeeping and terrible attitude. An absolute disgrace to the world of insurance. Being in insurance myself i will ensure that he never gets a role in the other companies i deal with. "

" I called to let them know I've sold my van and won't be replacing it. They said I would need to speak to cancellations, whom after a 20minute wait, said I would have to agree to unknown charges in order to end the policy. After weeks of complaint by email they have said policy does not need to be cancelled if there is no replacement vehicle, it just ends when you inform them. That said they now want to charge me on cover for 6 weeks after date I informed them and a cancellation fee.
Given my experience with them, I'd say that you would be very lucky if they were able to handle a claim smoothly and efficiently.
In my opinion, do not use this insurer no matter what price they quote or how they handle new sales. "
