" First things first. I stayed in the room on the right on the ground floor. It had a kitchen worktop with washing machine and dryer (unexpected and not required) very dated, cluttered decor and a bit of a musty smell which was only partly masked by the plug-in air freshners. The bedding and towels were quite tired looking and floral/coloured. I think the room was pretty clean but it felt more old folks' home bedsit than the crisp, white modern room I personally prefer. I would've marked the property 2 stars on this basis but I only post reviews when I have an extremely good or bad experience.
The source of this experience was the host (John) whose behaviour towards me was demonstrative, angry and wholly unacceptable.
I had arrived quite late and needed to leave at 5 the following morning for a running race. At 11pm, I remembered I had my quite valuable bike in the car and if I didn't remove it, it would have been left in the car in an insecure location for 10 or so hours while I was running. I didn't know how to get in contact with the hosts at that time and since 1. My bike was pristine having been stored in my own house for 6 months and transported inside my car, with no oil on the chain 2. The room had a tiled floor and was only 3 metres across a vestibule which also had a tiled floor 3. My bike is extremely light and very easy to move without bumping into things and 4. The weather was fine, I set about very carefully transferring my bike to the room, which I managed very successfully as I knew I would.
Check out time was at 10 and at 10:03, John banged quite hard on my door explaining that check out time is 10. I had just packed my bags and was heading to load the car and check out. I opened the door and was verbally set upon by a shouting, pointing, red-faced John who repeatedly inquired how I had the audacity to carry my bike through to the room and advised me that he would have 'slung me out last night' and to 'get out and don't come back'. I tried to explain the above and I am a very reasonable person. Indeed if John could have calmed himself down and engaged in a discussion I would have explained and perhaps offered to make a donation to a charity of his choice to demonstrate that I have taken onboard his point of view.
Unfortunately John was not inclined to have an adult discussion and preferred to shout at me as though I was a naughty child.
Don't worry John - I won't be coming back. Feel free to provide feedback if you feel that I have misrepresented the facts in any way. "

" Great BandB, nice clean luxury feel, great people and breakfast but for the money I would have liked a littlemore
I paid the half that for a city centre IBIS that had more tv chanels evening meal and bar
I would glady recomment the people, the room, the location, and the food.
Most of all I would go back
