" Car was crushed by a big stone, because Chichester Stone works.
Hastings direct took 13 days to get me a courtesy car, because they didn't have the intelligence to pick up a phone and find the correct department of the 3rd parties insurance company.
I wasn't told the truth why it was taking soo long to get me a courtesy car.
I was at first told it was because they needed the 3rd party to admit liability in writing.
But the truth was they couldn't get the correct department.
I was told by a Hastings direct customer service person.. to phone the 3rd person's insurance company and try to find out the information myself?
I thought this was Hastings job?
To top this all off, I pay an extra £50 a year for guaranteed courtesy car... "

" Had a letter saying they would not quote for insurance for the forth coming year. No explanation. Tried ringing 1hr on phone but could not get through. Written to them no reply.
Cannot get a sensible quote off any other insurer.
I have a clean driving licence and 16 yrs N.C.D.
I will now have to take the car off the road until I can get this sorted out "

" I had a tough time with my previous insurance and they wanted to charge nearly double from the previous year. I had made no claims and no changes to my circumstances so the price hike really hacked me off, it was straight up unjust. I was delighted to find Hastings Direct were the cheapest around by almost half my original "happier" price to begin with! On top of that, as of just recently, I've had a tough time with health issues and as a result I had missed a payment. I was blessed enough to speak with a lady who was very understanding, Francesca. When I explained what had gone on and Francesca had spoken with her superior, they were even kind enough to wave the default charge as a gesture of good will. So here I am letting you know its far from all bad, as I see so many negatives! Great company and I like it "

" It seems to be impossible to speak to anyone there. Every time I call, morning, afternoon, lunchtime or evening I am minimum 25 to 30 minutes on hold where I get fed up with the horrible waiting tunes and just hang up. If they can not provide a timely customer service, they are not worth my business. Simple "

" STAY CLEAR OF HASTINGS DIRECT !!!
Time after time after time I am having to phone them because they keep cocking up my policies. Last year they FAILED to initiate an insurance policy that could have cost me my job, my licence and criminal record. I called with new car details, set up the policy, all was agreed including payment details but then the IDIOT on phone NEVER initiated it. Thank god car was in garage at the time for repairs. THIS YEAR > ( after 20-30 minutes waiting for them to answer ) I CANCELLED the renewal before renewal date and took out a fresh policy with then because it was cheaper. Yesterday I discovered they NEVER CANCELLED RENEWAL. THEY have charged me a deposit for the cancelled renewal policy PLUS taken 2 months payments for it so far. THEY have also taken a deposit PLUS 2 months payments for the NEW policy I set up . FOR THE SAME CAR, SAME REGISTRATION, SAME DRIVER. HOW IGNORANT AND UNPROFESSIONAL IS THAT ??? I now contacting Ombudsman, Rogue Traders, A National Newspaper and also left a review on TrustPilot to ward off others from Also being conned by them.. THEY are Unable to COMMUNICATE with each other. A bunch of kids from a creche could run the place better. STAY CLEAR OF THEM !!! I WILL NEXT YEAR !!! "
