" We had a fantastic stay , the staff were very friendly and made you feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble to them. Alicia and Lawrence especially stood out. This hotel needs to be 5 star not 2. We have already booked our next stay. "

" Only stopped in for a drink after a day's hill walking. Great outside terrace overlooking Haweswater which was very popular. We, however, sat inside in the lounge, but it had huge windows with lake and hill views.
The staff were all really friendly and helpful to a steady stream of people booking in. Coming back later in the week to try their dinners. Would certainly recommend for a drink at least. "

" Hotel looks lovely and breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately despite requesting a quiet lake view room (booked well in advance aswell) we were given a back room which appeared to be over the staff break area and so led to banging doors until nearly 11pm and colourful language from staff. Also our room was not properly cleaned for example dust just swept under bed and the previous guests used shower gels in Shower. A shame as has potential to be lovely "

" A wonderful friendly hotel that more than accommodated for the fact that it catered for dogs. The location is superb, the food was great, our room was great, and every member of staff was so nice. We'll be back for sure some time soon. "

" Every time I come to the lakes, I visit Haweswater, do a circuit with the dogs and end up at the Haweswater Hotel. The food is great, it's dog friendly and they have some nice beers on draught. The gardened areas outside are very quaint and they have lots of red squirrels on their feeders, so it's lovely to sit and watch them, with a view of Haweswater from the terrace. I'll continue to come here every year. "
