Take a walk outside on the top floor balcony. Stunning views of Bristol near and far. Fantastic view and feel of the steam from the steam train. "

" First visit to Bristol. Found the M shed to be a vibrant and enjoyable way to learn about the city, its history, areas and also its future which i found novel. Certainly this isn't a stuffy or formalised museum.
My kids absolutely loved the travelling display of skeletons and the interactive learning experience. The best bit of science they've done in ages.
Around the M shed are plenty of other activities so i would definitely recommend a visit. "

" Great museum telling the story of Bristol, it's suburbs and people from its founding to recent history. From Brunnel to Banksy they're all here. Just off and within easy walking distance of the centre of Bristol it is housed in, what appears to be old warehouses. Nice café within the museum with outside seating. Best of all it's free! "

" M Shed is a fantastic, slightly random museum full of stuff about Bristol. It covers the origins of the city, its development, current status, and potential future. There's lots to see for kids and adults alike, and it's free! There is usually an exhibition at the top floor that works on a "pay what you think" policy, and that is usually worth going to.
There are many bathrooms and they are clean and hygienic.
The only downside is perhaps the exhibitions are put together by theme rather than chronological order which creates a disjointed feeling. "
