" A lovely hotel with fantastic views of the hills and Ulswater. Food is excellent. Staff very friendly and curteous, nothing is too much trouble. Good entertainment. Lovely walks and transport close by. "

" We decided to go here for a Sunday dinner, what we recieved surprised us all. We were each given a plate of roasted meat with gravy, chips! beetroot and turnips. Not exactly your conventional Sunday dinner. We felt like the hotel guests were their only priority and that we were a nuisance, yet they'd take our money and throw together whatever was spare in the kitchen. We certainly vowed never to eat there again. "
