" A very special place. A b and b above Martyn's art studio overlooking the harbour. We had a lovely room, number 2, on the top floor with a window overlooking the harbour and a separate bathroom with gorgeous alhambra type tiles and a bath! Our first bath on our walking trip in Cornwall AND a waterfall shower. We had a huge superking, comfy bed, tea and coffee, WiFi that actually works and the most lovely garden. It is in 3 tiers sloping up at the back of the house, each one has tables and chairs and you can move upwards to catch the last rays as they dip down behind the hills. We ate fish and chips there and had some wine. Martyn lets you use all of it, he's very laid back. So if you can't do stairs or want someone pampering you 24/7 then it's not for you, but if you want total freedom and to experience the true romance of Port isaac, I can't recommend it highly enough. "

" We booked a room with Harbour view- on arrival were told this room was not available and were shown to a back room with views of dingy unkept gardens and rooftops- The room consisted of a large double bed(the bedding did look clean) the smallest old fashioned tv we had seen for a long time ,grubby rugs on the floor and mismatched furniture, the picture window behind the bed was fully open probaly to eliminate the underlying smell of damp we hadn't asked if facilities were en-suite and they weren't -we were shown to a grubby dingy bathroom which we assumed would be shared by the three other rooms on this landing -we were shown the terraced garden!!which was accessed through a window and again was unkept and unappealing- we requested our money back and were given a cheque as payment had been taken from our credit card(watch this space) and fortunately found alternative super accomodation at Penrose - our visit to Port Isaac was superb and we know where we will stay if we visit again. "
