When your website & your support group is mentioned (with hyperlinks to your website) in a report being presented to the Government tomorrow.

The report highlighting the need for sustained resourcing of 'specialist support services' as well as mention of the needs for dramatic change in order for law reforms to be based on the 'experience of victims' and not the perpetrator. There are too many 'loopholes' in the current law provision that impinges on victims.

I am grateful,... in awe and very proud of the woman who has amazingly (I've been told I need to accept this word) come so far in her journey in order to 'just make a difference by standing up/speaking out, talking her truths and taking back her power'.

The part of my journey I am disgusted with are the numerous request from the media to share/talk for free.

My time and others time is precious and without people like me who are willing then you technically dont have a story. The quicker you understand that nothing in life is free (of course except for the air we breath) and even that is questionable the better.

I'm so glad I am in a position to say NO.

At times I feel I carry a huge burden. The burden that is 'emotional absorption' of self and others. Which funnily enough comes hand in hand with the support I provide to those who reach out to me. Not a complaint but an observation of self.

When you reach that pinnacle of 'taking back your power' it starts an emotional chain reaction of thoughts, ideas, challenges, changes, insight, questions that require answers, ways to make a difference and much more.

It can consume you.... My advice will always be 'take time to quiet the mind, reconnect your thoughts and write it down'. Everything in divine time and not before.

Alex Reid is spot on! This is how the media (if you are not equipped mentally) makes victims victimised by portraying and fuelling the normalising of public perceptions.

I have experienced this with certain media cultures over the years but now that I understand how they work I ensure that I have as much control as possible and any victims that I support I ensure they fully understand the media fuckwittery that mostly is done to boost ratings, readers and can create a hostile environment for many.

Spring Cleaning - im finally sorting out the VOIC YouTube Channel. Locating all the media resources, presentations and talks I have done over the last 5 years.

Yep! It is 5yrs literally to the month and what an amazing 5yrs it has been. Actually it's been great meeting new people, helping those that reach out and working with those that are in a strategic position to make change.

I still at times battle with self but that's all part of the healing process but I am grateful fo...r a lot of people that have helped me on my journey.

The more resources available for victims the more they will not feel alone #standupspeakout. There is however still much work to be done so.....watch this space & thank you for walking by my side.
