" Not a big museum, but I can find something interesting in Viking special exhibition. I entered with York Pass, which saved me 7.5quid. First floor is the prehistoric York life(quite small region), ground floor is the natural history and some stones, and the underground is the Vikings. "

" Great museum with a modern, fresh and airy feel. Lots of great educational visuals for kids to learn about various aspects in history. There was a theme around sea animals, dinosaurs and Romans that the kids could explore.They even got the chance to dress up as Romans and an art activity in making stained glass windows! Highly recommended. The pictures are within the art gallery which is worth a visit too. "

" Get a membership for the three big York museums. This is a family friendly place and the price of a normal daily ticket isn't bad at all. All displays were in order and everything was clean and well labeled. Outside you can explore the gardens and walk down to the river. There are great places to eat within 5 minutes. "
