" I had been considering going for laser eye treatment for a while but never really made the step, but a couple of friends had it done and recommended it was the best thing they ever did. I had been getting sick to the teeth of contact lenses and wasn't really keen on glasses especially when playing golf. I googled laser eye treatment and Optilase was one of the first hits so I contacted them and was able to book a consultation in a few days. When I contacted my friend they said they had been to Optical Express and recommended it but I thought I would keep my consultation with Optilase. When I arrived I was warmly welcomed and brought into a nice waiting area with coffee, refreshments and Netflix on TV while I filled in Health Forms, and everyone was very friendly, particularly Nicole. I underwent assessments on whether or not I was suitable for surgery and the consultant was extremely informative and knew his stuff. To my shock I was informed I could go for surgery 2 days later, and I would also receive a discount for doing so. On the day of surgery I was warmly welcomed back and met the surgeon prior to surgery who explained everything in detail and reassured me the he took every measure to ensure the procedure would be as successful as possible. I have to admit it was slightly more painful than I expected but the nurses beside me were very friendly and comforting and helped me feel at ease.
The 5 or 6 hours after surgery are quite painful and discomforting and it is difficult to open your eyes but the nurses and surgeon did explain this would be the case so I was well prepared for this.
I've only went through the surgery 3 days ago so my eyes are still quite red and bloodshot and do get a bit dry but I was given plenty of eye drops to treat this. I would say though so far I am delighted with the vision results I have experienced after only a few days. I can see better than I could have previously with contacts or glasses and apparently my sight will improve as my eyes fully heal so that is definitely something to look forward to!
I would highly recommend Optilase to anyone considering surgery and I have already recommended them to a few of my friends and colleagues, and I believe they reward a referral so even better! :) "
