2 Reviews found on line about Wombwell Playhouse Theatre and RMC Theatre Company Reviewed 22 November 2017 Lovely little theatre Wombell, a suberb of Barnsley, South Yorkshire, is not the sort of place you'd expect to visit for a world premiere, but that is where the premiere of a new Rock Musical, The Power and the Glory, was held. It is a lovely little theatre, only seating about 200, run, I am guessing, by volunteers who are determined to keep this local resource open and ...viable. Not the sort of place I'm likely to visit often, since it was an 80 mile round trip, but I certainly enjoyed this visit. The added bonus was that the show was wonderful and is a must see for anyone who enjoys musical theatre.

Worth a visit. I am a regular attender at this super theatre and am impressed every time I visit. The Real Music Centre Theatre Company are the company that puts on most shows and believe me they know how to put on a show. I too saw the World Premiere of The Power and the Glory and what a superb production it was. Some of the performers could easily make the West End. Plays are put on during the year and for a small charge what super entertainment they provide. More people should attend, they don't know what they are missing. I hope the volunteers, who do a great job, keep this venue running.
