" Had a great time here with 2x 11yr old & a 4yr old girl. The facilities are central to all accommodation at the park and facilities well maintained and clean. Everything there that you need including vending machine's for juices, snacks and coffee! Staff were very welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend this place to couples, friend's and families. Great wee Adventure walks, fishing, picnic area's, play area and a small pitch n putt. Loved it & will be back "

" EXCELLENT, my son and I have stayed for three nights just, (18-21st August 16)we stayed in a 'little lodge' which was just a good size for the two of us. It was all spread out nicely so as to not feel you're tripping over your neighbours. Having a campfire was a nice added extra, my son and I enjoyed making one, sitting around it and chatting. The toilets and showers were nice and clean as were the kitchen area. The groundsman was very friendly and helpful, he and his wife obviously work hard there and deserve a pat on the back. Thank you to all at Barnsoul. I will definitely consider a return visit In the future. "

" What a superb campsite! Fantastic facilities, everything is well managed and maintained, run by nice friendly people. I highly recommend a walk through the various woodland spaces that surround the campsite, you'll not be disappointed by the array of wildlife; Red Squirrels, all manner of birds, from Woodpeckers to Jays to Kestrels.... I was lucky enough to see a Barn Owl late one evening, which really made my visit!

I came for the mountain biking, as this place is within easy reach of Mabie Forest, but for me, it's worth going a little further afield to Ae Forest.

I intend to return, without a shadow of doubt! "

" We stayed here recently as we'd bought this 2 night stay as a voucher deal.

Good things...
The park is clean and well maintained. The lodge was clean and tidy. It had everything but the kitchen sink. Comfortable beds, microwave and fridge. Plenty of electrical sockets for gadgets and phone chargers not forgetting the heating as it was raining and cold in the evenings.

Nearby in dumfries we shopped at the tesco 7 miles away hence there are pubs nearby the tesco.

A picknik bench infront of lodge and a firepit for an open fire but bring your foldaway seats to sit around the fire.

Theres a tiny lake not far where you can do your fishing aswel.

Bad things...

The lady warden with white hair is simply rude and cheeky at the same time... no people skills and poor listening skills didnt give us a positive feel on entry to the park. She was speaks down to you and can sound patronising.

We were lucky she was off the next day and Mark the male warden was working. He was excellent and bestowed our confidence in feeling safe and that our requirements would be met.

He is great with his customer care skills and service absolutely top notch and hes always willing to help unlike the lady that seems to challenge your query...

Toilets can be a bit far if you need to go in the middle of the night as its pitch black ensure to have a torch.

The toilets have a timed light switch so if your on the loo and it goes off your sitting in the pitch black unless someone is outside the loo moving!!! Pathetic!!

We also had some people staying in the lodge next to us playing loud music from the car it was totally annoying!! However after telling MARK he kept a watchful eye out descretly as people were affected by the noise.

Overall this place is great the lodges are lovely and clean despite people bringing dogs.

No dog fouling and tidy surroundings.
If your lucky youll have mark the warden on your stay hes a top warden and youll enjoy your stay dearly with him on your watch.

Bad things... "
