" A wonderful CS site in a gorgeous setting. Well maintained and looked after with friendly hosts. Set by the banks of a river with an old lade bringing water to supply the large pond set in the center of the site. Nature is everywhere with plenty of birds, fish and wildflowers and although I never saw them I was assured kingfishers regularly visit the pond and river. The Village of Garlieston is a short walk and is a beautiful small fishing village set in a very pretty bay. Nice pub With a friendly atmosphere and good pub food. Great for dog walking and photography. "

" What a wonderfull experience it was to visit Garlieston Camp Site. Mine Hosts, Ann and Martin could not have been more welcoming, and they even arranged lots of blue sky ad sunshine. How thoughtful! I was hopeful of a Pitch overlooking the Beach and Harbour, but all were taken .... until tomorrow! So i was placed in a perfect spot to change over in the morning when the present occupiers moved out. It was a joy to watch the Sea Birds at such close quarters and to watch the tide coming and going so fast. The Harbour Inn is just a few minutes walk and serves good food at reasonable prices and the local shop has all the basics, but for a big shop you need to go further afield. When asked, Martin suggested a Cycle ride to Isle of Whithorn, which at about 8 miles was perfect to ease my legs into cycling mode. Again a most delightful place to visit, and has scenic overload. This is a corner of Scotland that i am sure most people miss, but should be on everyone's list of places to go - not only for the scenery and friendliness of the locals, but also for the Wardens Ann and Martin who deserve special praise for their service. I will definitely be returning in the future. "
