" My girlfriend’s family used to go here for years, and while it wasn't necessarily cheep the park was immaculate, the staff were friendly and the caravans were second to none.
We had not been back to the site for a few years and thought we would have a bit of a reunion in 2014. Suffice to say the park is a shadow if it’s former self. My girlfriend booked 4 caravans together in February. She also rang several times to confirm that they were together, their location and other details.
When we arrived we were presented with 3 caravans together and 1 on its own, none were in the location requested. To make matters worse 2 out of three of the caravans were in a word disgusting. Dogs had clearly been in the caravans as animal hair was everywhere. There was mould throughout, the most memorable case being the discovery of a rancid old baby bottle in one of the cupboards. Overall they were old, tatty and full of damp. Even the 2 caravans that at a glance looked reasonably new and liveable required a thorough clean.
So that's what we all spent the first day of our holiday doing, as I really didn't want to drive the 4 hours it took to get home. When we went to the manager to complain, about the conditions and the locations she basically said something along the lines of "you get what you pay for". However there was no way of booking a higher class campsite owned caravan, we booked about 6 months in advance so 4 caravans together should have been guaranteed and I would expect a basic level of hygiene if I was in free accommodation.
Safe to say I think this was easily the worst holiday I have ever had in my life. The caravans were disgusting and the staff were obnoxious. Do not go to this site, you have been warned. "
